□  Attempt to crack down copyright violation

Thai Deputy Minister of Commerce, Mr. Alongkorn Ponlabutra revealed that he is planning to crack down the organized crime who import counterfeit product across border of Thailand. He will use the law of anti- money laundry to force the crime.
In the news-report, most of counterfeit goods was imported from China and neighboring countries through northern and east-northern border. Most of them are cloth, bag, shoes, movie-DVD, music CD and software. These counterfeit goods negatively affect to local economic and government loses a lot of revenue on tax collection because of fault declaration. This crime is mostly operated by international organized crime.
The Minister said he has talked with the Prime Minister Apisit, as he is the chairman of the National IP Violation Suppression Committee, in order to added an offense of IP violation to the basic factor of money laundry according to the Anti-Money Laundry Act.
