The Seoul Copyright Forum 2012 convened at the Diamond Hall of the Intercontinental Hotel COEX in Seoul’s Samseong-dong on Oct 10. Under the theme “The Global Digital Environment and Activating the Use of Copyright Material: Creative Use of Orphan Works,” the forum featured broad participation by copyright experts from the United States, the EU, Japan and China. Participants discussed alternatives that would balance the interests of creators and users.

 The forum became an opportunity to focus Korean social interest on orphan works and explore plans for secondary use of copyrighted materials that take into consideration changes in the digital technology environment.
