Title Copyright Counselling Centre Opened
Date 2014-05-29

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) and the Korea Copyright Commission (KCC) had a ceremony to celebrate the opening of "Copyright Counselling Centre", which aims to resolve copyright-related inconveniences and create an environment for sound utilisation of copyrighted works at national level, on May the 27th.

10 professional counsellors at the copyright counselling centre will provide not only with legal advice on copyright but also overall information on copyright such as conciliation process, safe and convenient ways to utilise copyrighted works, and the protection of creators' rights and interests.

Anyone who has queries regarding copyright can call at the centre (number: 1800-5455) during the service hours (9am~6pm) or make an appointment out of these hours or on holidays, by which the enquirer can receive a call from a counsellor.

MCST and KCC plan to analyse the contents of counselling and build an effective copyright warning system in response to the new copyright-related issues that might cause damage to the users and the creators, and by doing so, eventually prevent damage and solve the public's problems of inconvenience.

Meanwhile, KCC tried to enhance its professionalism by recruiting new workers who had majored in the relevant studies, and also to contribute to the reemployment of women with interrupted work career by recruiting 4 of such.
