□ Overview of Thai Television
 
General Information of the market
 
In 2008, the National Statistic Office has surveyed and got the out come that the 94.6 % of Thai popularity had watched television. Since 1989, the survey shows that the number of TV watcher increasing every year until now.
 
 
In regards to the television business of Thailand, we can divide the business into 2 sections; 1. The broadcasting organization (TV channel) and;2 the content provider ( show producer). Most of Thailand television channel provides some of shows/programs to be broadcasted through its channel by itself, but most of its program/shows are provided by outsource producers. The content producer will offer its idea of the show to the TV broadcaster and asking for the airtime. After the TV broadcaster approve, then the producer produces its show for “on-air” or broadcasting. The income of show producer will come from the advertisement and sponsorship, as well as TV broadcaster. However, it also has to share the income or pay for the air time to the TV broadcaster as well.
